The only time you can change your mind about these things is that you have to want the change for yourself and nobody else. If you want to be healthy bad enough, you will get treatment and stay in treatment. It is part of a live style you have to change for the rest of your life to stay healthy.

Thanks for your response. I already know you have to want, willing and ready to recover but I am asking how do you support someone that isn't wanting, willing or ready to recover?

I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't rich, or are young or old! They're still princesses. All of us. Didn't anyone tell you that? Didn't anyone? I am telling you that!

I think you can support, encourage, suggest, pressure etc--and hope at some point it clicks & they want help. When an addiction or ED gets so severe its literally threatening someone's life- I think family & loved ones can try holding an intervention or even see if legally they can force someone into rehab. I have a cousin who is a drug addict-and often times other family members claim she'll never get better until she wants help=but i dont want to give up on her & think as a family we need to keep trying until. but it does get frustrating when u want to help someone-its clear they need help-but they are not ready yet.

You can remind them that you are there to support them. Acknowledge that change, even for the better can be scary. Don't be pussy for them to work on the issue.
